Affomix is built on the premise that simultaneous tracking and quantitation of the proteome will dramatically increase our understanding of cellular phenomena. Achievement of such protein characterization ideally requires a vast matched library of specific mAbs and quantitation technology with adequate sensitivity and dynamic range. Armed with such mAb libraries, we can better probe the behavior of signal transduction pathways or of proteins from specific classes of genes, e.g. oncology panels. Additionally, it is desirable to characterize post-translational modifications of proteins because these modifications control protein activity and behavior, which in turn influence regulatory pathways.
Unmet Need: Current technologies limit the achievement of these goals as the methods used for selecting Abs are throughput-limited, large sets of mAbs with matched properties are unavailable, methods for quantitation of proteins in multiplexed arrays are limiting and technologies available for measurement of post-translationally modified proteins is neither high throughput nor adequately sensitive.
Solution: Affomix has created a suite of technologies designed to accomplish these goals.
Current Offering
Y2HEXPRESSTM
Yeast two hybrid (Y2H) is a process for selecting mAbs against non-modified proteins. Standard Y2H methodology is well established and carries the advantages of selection without the need for production of antigen as well as specific epitope targeting. However, the process has been limited by throughput and specificity issues.
Affomix has developed Y2HEXPRESSTM, a proprietary automated approach that dramatically increases the speed and specificity at which mAb selection and production can be carried out.
